William Earl Jones (Shotgun) of Elizabeth, New Jersey was born on August 22, 1948 to the late Jarvis and Bettie Jones of Elizabeth NJ. He was a graduate of Edison High School Elizabeth NJ.
William had various jobs in retail; he relocated to Kinston, NC and became manager of a Men’s Store. He relocated back to NJ where he worked various jobs, until he was hired a leather presser for Leather Press Company in Elizabeth, NJ.
William loved to dance and play chess. He was given his nickname (Shotgun) from his excellent pool shooting skills. He was a sharp dresser.
William is preceded in death by his parents Javis and Bettie Jones.
William leaves to cherish his legacy his loving children, Derrick Peterson of Atlanta, Georgia Maurice Kea of Indianapolis, Indiana Novatni Nicholson of Kinston, NC, daughter Vanessa Bunn of Elizabeth, NJ, seven grandkids, five great-grands, two brothers Curtis Jones of Chase City, Virginia, John Jones of Greenville, South Carolina, four sisters Addie Christine Holmes (Walter) of Queens, New York, Betty Jones of Elizabeth NJ , Deborah Brooks of Greenville, South Carolina, Daniella Scott of Greenville South Carolina, one special niece La-Jetta Rambert of Woodbridge NJ two special nephews La-Keba Jones, Majigg Jones Jr, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and close friends.
