Leslie Ann Westbrook-Davis, beloved daughter to the late Fredrick Westbrook and Shirley Ann Saxon, was born February 14, 1957 in Elizabeth, NJ. Leslie was the second born of five children.
Leslie was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey and attended Elizabeth public school system, where she graduated from Battin High School in 1975. Leslie spent her childhood on Hampton Place surrounded by family and friends. You could always catch her reminiscing on the great times she had growing up on that small one way street. Leslie will always be known as the strong silent type, and when she walked on the block we would all laugh as the song “She’s a brick house” would come to mind. Leslie was like a mother to her three younger sisters and if you messed with one, you had to answer to her in no uncertain terms.
On April 7, 1978, Leslie married Gordon E. Davis and from this union they welcomed the love of her life and her only child, Shaquanah A. Davis. She also gained a step daughter, Violet Coldwell.
In 2013, Leslie became a grandmother to a baby boy, Wenkell Naim Harris. She was very excited to start this new chapter of her life. Being a grandmother really and truly made her happy. Wenkell was truly his grandma’s baby. Some of her happiest times were spent playing with Wenkell.
Leslie also found joy in other activities. She was an avid QVC shopper. A trait picked up from her mother.
She enjoyed trying new makeup and hairstyles.
Leslie was also an avid movie watcher who always had a great recommendation.
After over 20 years of employment as a Property Manager for Diversified Management Company, Leslie recently retired as of December 2020.
Saturday, January 29th, after a brief stay in the hospital, Leslie peacefully transitioned.
