Apryl Julious Obituary

Apryl LaToya Kabria Julious was born on October 27, 1977 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to John Henry Julious Jr. and Bobbie “Barbara” Simon. Apryl, affectionately known as Toya, departed this earthly life and entered into the Lord’s eternal presence on July 27, 2020 at the age of 42.

Toya was educated in the Elizabeth Public School system and graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1995. Following High School, she was employed by the Hershey Company of Edison, NJ for several years.

Toya gave her life to Christ early on and was initially a member of The Liberty Baptist Church in Elizabeth NJ under the leadership of Pastor, Kenneth E. Grayson. During her time at Liberty, she was an active member of the church drill team and the junior choir.

She loved spending time with her family and friends equally. Toya was known for her vibrant smile and beautiful spirit. She had a friendly, energetic and bubbly personality that was apparent whenever you encountered her. Toya’s energy would fill the atmosphere as soon as she entered any space and her jokes and antics would make her the life of many family gatherings.

She was truly a well-rounded individual who could connect to you on any level. Whether it was the simpler joys of watching the Dallas Cowboys or the New York Giants on Sundays with you; or the more complex joys of helping a loved-one navigate a personal challenge, Toya was a lover of life and counted it all Joy.

Her biggest joy of all was the joy she had for her children. She was mother to 3 amazing children whom she cherished. She went above and beyond typical parenting. At any time, you could find her blasting music, dancing and even rapping with her young children forming lasting connections. Overall, Toya believed that time spent was paramount.

Toya was predeceased by paternal grandfather, John Henry Julius Sr. “Daddy Rap” and maternal grandparents Eugene and Mary L. Simon.

She leaves to cherish loving and lasting memories her father, John Henry Julious Jr. (Ann) of East Orange, NJ and mother, Bobbie Simon of East Orange, NJ; two daughters, Ajanay and Anaala Green and one son, Nadir Green Jr. of Linden, NJ; two sisters, Rasheda Julius of Elizabeth, NJ and Joi Brown of East Orange, NJ; Grandmother, Rosa Julious of Linden, NJ; Special aunt and uncle, Andrew and Linda Julious of Linden, NJ; aunts Willie Mae, Betty, Lucille, Queen “Priscilla”, Rosalind (Johnny), Bernadine (Joseph), Bewilda and Diane; uncles Sam, Maymond (Lois), Earl (Alecia), Larry and a host of nieces, nephews, close cousins, family and friends.
