Annette Davis of East Orange, New Jersey departed this earthly life and gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. She was born May 6, 1943 to the late Nancy Jane Tate in Pensacola, Florida. She was educated in the Pensacola Public School District and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She furthered her education by attending the George Stone Technical Institute for Nursing.
At a young age she became an entrepreneur, she sold soul food dinners, candied apples and frozen cups to her local community and they loved every bit of it. In the 1960’s she became a traveling gospel singer, traveling state to state singing the good news.
In 1971 she relocated to Montclair, New Jersey with her beautiful children. Being the hard worker she naturally was, she became a Nurses’ Aide in the local hospital. Annette later became gainfully employed as a Dietary Aide for the East Orange General Hospital for several years.
Annette was a caring yet strong– willed person, who didn't take any crap from anyone. She was a protector of her family and very independent. Whatever she wanted she worked for it and got It herself. She loved her family and would travel state to state to help raise her grandchildren. No matter where she was, if she was needed by her family she was on the next thing smoking. She had an incredible love for the Lord and made sure her whole family knew him for their self. She was a phenomenal woman of love and sacrifice and she will truly be missed.
