Sheila Lumpkins

Sheila Lumpkins a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, NJ. departed this earthly life and gained her wings on October 30, 2020. She was born in Elizabeth N.J. on May 9, 1950 to the late Lavern and Arthur Johnson.

Sheila was the oldest of 5 siblings whom she loved dearly and they also looked up to her. Sheila graduated from Battin High School in Elizabeth, N.J. and she continued her education to earn an Associate Degree in Business.

Sheila loved her old movies and her cocktails. She loved to spend time with her family and love ones. She would watch Cabin in the Sky at least 3 times a week.

Sheila met and married the love of her life Preston Lumpkins and from that union they had 4 wonderful children. They were married 29 years.

Sheila worked for Bell Telephone for many years before taking a position with Community Access where she worked as an Administrative Assistant before retiring at the age of 65.

Sheila, our mom was a wonderful mother and a loving aunt and friend to everyone she came in contact with. She had so many adopted children and grandchildren. To know her was to love her.

Sheila is preceded in death by her beloved husband Preston Lumpkins, 2 beloved sisters Patricia Jones, and Marlene Johnson, her beautiful mother Laverne and father Arthur Johnson and her granddaughters Quanise and Angel.

Sheila leaves to cherish her wonderful memories her  sons Preston, Darnell, Robert, and  Fouqon, daughter Michelle, grandchildren, Kadijrah, Quataysia, Aaliyah, Denay, Zyon, Kalise, Jakeem, Tiera, Qualil, Quamira, and Anae , great grandchildren Mason, Quaniyah, and  Masai, nieces Tracey, Tonia, Melinda, Nicole and Teneshia,  brothers Robert and Arthur, best friend/sister Patricia Bolden, nephews, Tyrone, Dontae, William, Tyshawn, Marvin, Tyric, Tariq and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

She will be missed but never forgotten
