Roland Marcus Jackson was born July 24,1962 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Leonard & Margaret Jackson.

He passed away suddenly on June 3, 2020 at Hackensack Meridian Hospital.

Roland attended Elizabeth public school. After high school, he entered the US Army from 1981-1984, where also received his GED. Once he returned back to the states from oversees serving his country, he started working at may reputable companies; Johnson & Johnson, Anheuser Busch, and Mondelez International (Nabisco). Through his workplaces he gained many more friends along the way, where some became family to him. He was the epitome of a handworker & provider for his daughters, grandchildren and family.

Roland Favorite Line was, “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it” and he stood on his word!

Roland was raised with his siblings and their infamous dogs from Court Street to the Pioneer Homes. Growing up he was affectionately known to his siblings as “Harry”. He always had a look upon his face as to be focus or serious, but he was jokester. To most of his friends he was known as “Raheem”. He was always the friend you could depend on. It didn’t take much for him to help with anything, which also included giving back to his community by joining 1 Community Family Organization & the Annual Softball Reunion League for Miglorie Manors and Pioneer Homes. Roland had a big heart and a very humble person.

Roland was an honorable son, brother, father, uncle, and friend.

He preceded in death by his father Leonard Jackson, mother Margaret Jackson, brother Charles “Chucky” Jackson, and nephew Raymond “Knight” Jackson

Roland leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Maquita and Ebony Jackson of Roselle, NJ, Sofia Jackson of Elizabeth, NJ, and stepdaughter Kenyandra Williams of Roselle, NJ

Grandchildren Jade Turner and Jamaas Jones. Siblings Shirley Carey of Rahway, NJ, Leonard Jackson Jr. of Newark, NJ, Trudy (Raymond) Knight, Lenore (Larry) Jackson of Elizabeth, NJ, Aunt Helen Mosley of Elizabeth, NJ, a very dear and special friend Carolina Torres, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
