Michael Anthonie Thomas

Michael A. Thomas entered this world on August 15, 1960 in Perry, Georgia. He was born to Thelma Williams and James Thomas. Out of this union was 8 siblings Sylvia, Hope, Kevin, Constance, Bruce, Todd, Thaddeus and Gayle. Michael’s family later relocated to New Jersey, where he graduated from Elizabeth High School.

In 1987, Michael married his first wife Tamara Watts later divorced and remarried his current wife Sophia Morgan-Thomas. Michael had 6 children; Taneesha, Michael, Antoine, Taquana , Natasha and Keyon. He also had several grandchildren Kimberly, Jasmine, Genesis, Isaiah, Jayden, Olivia, Morgan, Mekhi, Raven, Antoine Jr, Arianna, Jeremiah, Darius and Damian. Every grandchild loved him to pieces.

Michael was a hard worker. He worked many jobs, but one he loved the most was being a construction worker.

Michael had a big heart. He loved his family with everything he had. Even when he had nothing, he still tried to assist in some way. He loved to sing and dance. He loved his wife tremendously and adored his mother. He was a handyman for all. He loved to cook, especially on the grill. He could whip up anything and it would fill you up. He loved to dress up and look sharp. Michael was a great listener and problem solver for so many. He always gave the tightest hugs, smiled big and laughed hard. He had jokes for days and loved, loved, loved his Dallas Cowboys. He was truly one of a kind!

Michael will be remembered for the blessing that he was in all of our lives. He would say “Cut that mess out. Don’t cry for me.” He would tell his kids “Raise your kids & continue to be good people.”  ”Stay close to one another.” “I’ve lived my life, yall live yall’s.” & everyone’s favorite “You MUST be mad!”

He was a loyal husband, son; father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. His love, his voice and his smile will be forever imprinted in our minds. He will always be loved and missed in all of our lives.

Michael A. Thomas left this world to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 29, 2020 in Rahway, NJ at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his father James Thomas and two brothers Bruce and Kevin Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife Sophia Morgan-Thomas, his children  Taneesha Evans (Courtney), Michael Watts (Shannon), Antoine Watts (Karen), Taquana Phillips (James), Natasha  Paylor (Michael), Keyon,  grandchildren Kimberly, Jasmine, Genesis, Isaiah, Jayden, Olivia, Morgan, Mekhi, Raven, Antoine Jr, Arianna, Jeremiah, Darius, Damian and a host of other loving relatives and close friends.

He may be gone but will NEVER be forgotten.
