Helena Vera Cohen-Johnson

Helena V. Cohen-Johnson passed away on Tuesday May 23rd at 9:45pm EST in Livingston, NJ.

Helena V. Cohen-Johnson was born in Elizabeth, NJ to Lester & Virginia Hodge on February 21st, 1948. Helena attended the Elizabeth public school system all through High-School. Helena married James Robert Johnson, a sergeant in the United States Air Force, in June 1975. Helena was an entrepreneur/business owner. Helena became an ordained minister in the early 90’s and later a marriage counselor.

Helena is preceded by her husband James Robert Johnson, Mother and Father Lester and Virginia Hodge, brothers Lester and Frederick Hodge, sisters Valderia, Anderia and Leslie Hodge.

Helena is survived by her four children, eldest son Deon C. Durham, second eldest son Clyde W. Cohen, eldest daughter Sadie E. Garcia, and youngest daughter Carolynn L. Johnson-Franklin. Three sisters, Virginia Hodge, Regina Hodge, Gladys Hodge and younger brother Patrick Hodge. Eight grandchildren and four great grands.
