Emma Mae Chavis

Emma Mae Chavis was called home on November 28, 2023 at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ.

Emma was born February 17, 1936 in Jenkins County, Georgia to the late Bennie Lee Daniels.

Emma had eleven sibling, six girls and five boys.

She accepted Christ at an early age, she was raised in Georgia. She eventually moved to Orange, NJ. After a few years, she found a home in Linden, NJ where she continued her job as a Home Health Aide, while continuing to uplift her family as much as possible.

Emma relocated to South Carolina in 2012 to be with her daughter Danette. After Danette passing in 2020, Emma returned to New Jersey in 2021.

Emma enjoyed watching basketball her favorite LA Lakers and football NY Giants. Her favorite foods were hog maws and chitterlings, ShopRite fried chicken, and chocolate chip cookies. Of course, she also loved her collard greens, mac and cheese, and all that good stuff.

Emma is preceded in death by her mother Bennie Lee Daniels, her loving daughter Danette Bussie, and 9 of her siblings.

Emma Mae Chavis leaves to cherish her loving memories: 1 sister Elaine Robin, nieces Renee and Wanda, nephew Selvin, grand-nieces, nephew’s great-grand nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
