Denise Greene-Tobe

Denise Greene-Tobe was born on September 17, 1963 in Elizabeth NJ and departed this earthly life on Friday, September 25, 2020. Denise was the daughter of Ettie Greene-Frye and the late Charlie McCoy.

Denise was educated in the Elizabeth Public School system and graduated from Edison Tec Vocational High School in 1981. After graduated she went into the medical field. She was employed with Kindred Hospital in Rahway NJ and prior to that she worked at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth NJ. She was in the medical field for over 30 years and took pride in her job. Denise loved to care for people and was dedicated to making people feel loved. She really enjoyed helping others and to know she touched so many lives was one of her biggest accomplishments, besides being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Some of her hobbies included cooking and she would often cook for her family and her work colleagues. Denise enjoyed dancing and her dancing skills would often show at all the family gatherings. She was always known as the life of the party and had a beautiful spirit along with the biggest heart. She also loved going to the casino and playing the lottery, especially scratch-offs and would often win. She was known as the “lucky one”. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and cherished her grandson Omar Jr. She was not only the best daughter, sister, mother and wife but she was also the best friend. She really loved her nieces and nephews and always went out of her way to make sure they knew how much she cared. Denise’s energy was always inspiring and she could connect to you on any level. She was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and would often watch sports with her husband, sons and grandson.

She met the love of her life David Tobe whom she spent the last 31 years with. They married on September 25, 1999. From their union, they were blessed with two loving sons whom she cherished Omar Greene and David Tobe Jr.

She was predeceased by her father Charlie McCoy, step father William Frye Sr., father-in-law Julius Tobe Sr. and sister-in-law Karen Tobe.

Denise leaves to cherish loving and everlasting memories, her husband David A. Tobe, mother Ettie Greene-Frye and mother-in-law Ann Tobe. Two Sons, Omar Greene and David Tobe Jr. One grandson Omar Greene Jr. Eight sisters, Patricia Greene, Lisa Greene, Tracey Greene, Michelle Williamson, Candis Frye-Reese (Louis), Sheila Williamson, Beverly Diggs and Valarie Williams (Gary). Four brothers, Joseph Frye, Ricky Greene, William Frye Jr (Vivian) and William Williamson Jr. Two brother-in-law’s Julius (Doc) Tobe (Adrienne) and Kevin Tobe, Special Aunt Barbara Gaines and Cousin Arnessa Greene. A host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
