Deaconess Ronell Cheryl Denise Jones-Johnson

Deaconess Ronell Cheryl Denise Jones-Johnson, 63, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 7, 2021 at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. She was the wife of Deacon Darryl Johnson with whom she spent 43 years of marriage.

Born in Elizabeth New Jersey on August 1, 1957, She was predeceased by her parents, Ronald S. Jones and Emma Jean Jones. She was a 1976 graduate of Battin High School, after graduating high school she began working at Woodbridge State School in Rahway, NJ. Her passion was serving other people, which she loved to do, so she decided to make a transitions in her career and became a Health Aid at the Catholic Community Service.

Ronell met Darryl in 1979 at local dance and for both of them it was love a first sight. They would later on decide to get married and raise three beautiful children. They love to travel and travel they did with and without their children, which was a signature of their relationship. When you saw Ronell you saw Darryl. Ronell loved her children her youngest Dorkisha was twin because they were so much a like and did everything together, her only son Algere (Butch) was the light of her life and Nicole her first born was her protector and someone she could always call on.

Family and friends surrounded her in love, honor, and gratitude for who she was - a strong women of God, a faithful Christian, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend just to name a few of the roles she had played in so many lives she touched. She made many sacrifices for her children and family to make sure they would be successful and strong in a tough world. Ronell knew that the Lord was her light and her salvation and she knew the power of prayer. She loved the lord and was proud member of Second Baptist Church in Roselle, NJ until she became ill and was not able to attend regularly.

Ronell was expecting her first great grandaughter this year who was born on March 10, 2021. Her legacy of love will continue through all of her children and grandchildren.

She leave to cherish her memory, her husband Darryl Johnson, three children Nicole Jones, Algere Jones, Dorkisha Jones, father Ronald S. Jones (deceased), mother Emma Jean Jones (decease), stepmother Barbara Jones (decease), sisters Emma Darlene Jackson, Robin Whitfield, Terry Jones, Paulette Jones, Lisa Jones, brothers Curtis Jones (deceased) Kim Jones, sister in law Valisha Johnson-Tippett, grandchildren Shakim Crawford, Leasia Miller, Azir Lawson, Minkah Jones, Maseen Jones, great grandaughther Aida Pene and Tanya Myers who was like another daughter to Ronell. Ronell also leaves behind a host of beloved uncles, aunts, neices, nephews, cousins and closed friends.
