Pastor Daisy Lee Lawson

Daisy Lee Lawson was born May 17, 1936 to the late Obediah and Daisy Ree Sutton in Pitts, Georgia. She transitioned this life peacefully on September 19, 2018 in Somerset, NJ.

Daisy moved to New Jersey where she lived her adult and senior years in Union County. She worked in a laundromat before becoming the first female Forklift Driver at Schering-Plough, which later became Merck Pharmaceutical Company in Kenilworth, NJ. After her retirement from Schering-Plough, she worked as a Crossing Guard and Home Health Aide. Daisy was a Pastor at her church Faith and Victory Temple in Elizabeth, NJ for several years.

Daisy loved fishing, and anything related to food! She enjoyed eating, cooking, watching cooking shows, and reading recipe books. Daisy was God-fearing, patient, encouraging, warm, kind-hearted, supportive, selfless and always willing to help in any way she could. She served as a foster mother for many years.

Daisy Lee was predeceased by her parents, Obediah and Daisy Ree Sutton and her brother Willie Sutton. Left to cherish Daisy’s memory are, her son: Alfred Rahim Ali Lawson; daughter-in-love: Maha Sahara Sawyer; god daughters: Keona Shay Lane and Jaz-Min Korren Taylor; four granddaughters: Massai Amora Lawson, Makayla Precious Turner, Mackenzie Star Turner, and Myrah Daisy Lawson, a niece: Pearlie Jean (Moses) West; cousins: Rev. Arlinda Harris, Sam (Queen) Felton, John (Delois) Felton, Annette Haymore, Shirley (Johnny) Randolph, and Julius Felton; and a host of family and friends.
