Barbara Ann Henson, born on April 16, 1941, in Thomasville, GA, was the firstborn to the late Juanita and the late Edward Miller. Surrounded by her family, Barbara fell asleep in death at the age of 84 years old on Monday, May 5th, 2025. Barbara or Barb Ann, as she was affectionately known by her family, grew up in Thomasville, GA, and attended Douglas High School, where she graduated in 1960. She served in the community, belonged to the YMCA, participated in swimming and youth activities, sang in the choir, and was a Girl Scout. Upon completing her secular education, she moved to New Jersey, where she married her husband, Ernest Howard Henson. To this union were born two children: Avis and Patrick. Barbara and Ernest were blessed with 63 years of marriage. Barbara dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 30th, 1967. She was a dedicated servant and enjoyed going out in field ministry. She assisted in aiding many others to make the decision to serve God. Barbara enjoyed traveling across the world with her husband, Ernest, as well as going shopping with her daughter, Avis. Barbara always looked forward to seeing her son, Patrick, and preparing a meal for him when he came to visit from Maryland. Barbara enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Barbara had a heart of gold along with a loving and genuine spirit. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and true friend to so many. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Jimmy and Thomas Franklin. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Henson; her two children, Avis Henson of Avenel and Patrick Henson of Maryland; four grandchildren: Patrice Henson of Delaware, Donovan Henson (Jackie) of Carteret, Nickolett (Dom) of Maryland, and Brayden Henson of Maryland; one great-granddaughter, Ava Henson of Carteret; one niece, Tenelle; two nephews, James (JJ) and Frank Junior. Longtime friends: Ann Black, the Eddies, Ella Griffin, the Billings, Louise Gregory, and a host of cousins and friends.
